The Baker Group was engaged through a standing contract to design and reconstruct two soccer fields for the Glenorchy City Council. The two fields of play were not meeting council expectations and were failing under repeat use by the soccer club throughout the winter months. Along with improved irrigation and surface conditions, The Baker Group's solution provided a field of play that would cater for a rainfall event with an intensity of 32mm/hr.

Our scope of work included

  • Detailed field of play design
  • Dethatching using KORO Topmaker
  • Installation of subsurface drainage including ag drains and sand slits
  • Surface reshaping using an imported sand profile
  • Supply and installation of new irrigation system
  • Supply and installation of new soccer goalposts
  • establishment of new turf including a 12-week grow-in period
